Capabilities
Skill Testing That Holds Up Under Challenge
Typing qualifications decide who becomes a clerk or a data entry operator, so the scoring method gets challenged. This module records everything needed to answer a challenge with evidence rather than assertion.
Precision Keystroke Capture
Scoring runs on the full keystroke stream, not a final-text diff. Correct entries, wrong characters, corrections, and timing are all recorded per candidate, so disputes can be replayed keystroke by keystroke.
Hindi & Regional Layouts
Inscript, Remington GAIL, Krutidev, and Mangal mappings for Hindi, plus supported layouts for state languages. Font rendering is validated per lab before the shift begins.
Layout-specific keyboard mappings ensure candidates type in the correct script. Phonetic and remington tables are pre-configured and validated.
Backspace Policy Control
Boards decide whether corrections count against accuracy or are free. The engine enforces whichever policy your notification specifies, applied uniformly across every venue.
Backspace behavior is configurable: unrestricted, limited, or disabled entirely. The policy is locked before the session begins and applies uniformly.
Server-Authoritative Timing
Test windows open and close on server clocks. A frozen client or manipulated system time cannot extend an attempt; grace periods require logged invigilator action.
WPM is computed from only correct characters, penalizing both uncorrected errors and excessive backspacing. The formula is published in the notification.
Passage Injection Prevention
Pre-typed text cannot be smuggled in: clipboard is disabled, external input devices are blocked at policy level, and anomalous keystroke cadence patterns raise flags for review.
Every keystroke — press, release, timing — is recorded. The full stream is available for replay in grievance proceedings or court queries.
Instant Qualification Sheets
Gross WPM, net WPM, and accuracy percentage compute the moment a candidate submits. Qualification lists against post-wise cut-offs export within minutes of shift close.
Scores are available within minutes of session end. Candidates see their result; administrators see the full keystroke audit trail alongside.
Scoring Model
Three Numbers, Computed One Way, Every Time
Formulas mirror the conventions in standard recruitment notifications. Boards set thresholds; the engine applies them identically at every venue.
Gross Speed (WPM)
(All typed characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutesRaw throughput including mistakes, used where notifications specify it.
Net Speed (WPM)
Gross characters minus error characters, then ÷ 5 ÷ minutesThe number most clerk and DEO notifications qualify on.
Accuracy (%)
Correct characters ÷ total typed × 100Reported alongside speed; minimum accuracy gates are enforced automatically.
Where It Runs
Posts That Qualify on Typing
Junior Clerk & LDC
Language-wise speed gates, commonly 30 to 35 WPM English or 25 to 30 WPM Hindi, with accuracy minimums enforced at submission.
Data Entry Operator
Higher character-throughput targets with strict accuracy floors, often tested in dedicated batches immediately after objective papers.
Stenographer Grade C & D
Dictation-to-transcription workflows where the engine times transcription separately and validates against the dictation script.
Court & Secretariat Staff
Regional language requirements with jurisdiction-specific layouts and dual-language passage configurations where notifications demand them.
Thresholds shown reflect common notification patterns; every board configures its own qualifying criteria inside the module.
